Purslane


Purslane (Portulaca oleracea) is an annual succulent. It has smooth, green to reddish stems with green leaves and yellow flowers.

Although Purslane is a weed, it can be eaten as a vegetable and has a slightly sour and salty taste. The stems, leaves and flowers are edible.

The plant can be eaten fresh, stir-fried, cooked or can be added to soups and stews.

Purslane is rich in Omega 3, energy, carbohydrates, fat and protein.
